The model 3 unveiling comes with no shock as this has been Tesla's goal from day one: to produce a mass market electric car. Elon says it's Tesla's secret master plan. It was originally a trilogy, now it’s a "four part trilogy".First was the Tesla roadster: a high price, and low volume car launched in 2008 which showed the world that you could have a great electric car that's fast, sleek and beautiful. Then came the Model S; the fastest four-door car in history, and then the Model X, for SUV lovers.
Make no mistake, this car is still a steal for its price, the base model accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 6 seconds (faster than its comparable counterparts; the BMW 3 series and Mercedes C class) with iterations going even faster. It goes at least 215 miles per charge, and yes, it supports supercharging and auto pilot features by default, no add-ons required. The model 3 already has over 250,000 orders. I bet keeping up with deliveries may be a little be challenging. But this is definitely worth the wait .
Tesla places a $35,000 ptice tag for the base model, and Elon Musk says it’s a 5 star car in all respects.
