The Devil has taken one step further in spreading his gospel by picking up a season renewal off Fox.
Variety reports the show played by the charming Tom Ellis which is just 6 episodes into its second season has been given a nod for a third instalment as well as nine extra episodes of runway.
Lucifer which stars Tom Ellis as the witty, self-indulging and charming prince of darkness who got bored of following his dad’s rules and decided to come to LA where he works hours solving murder cases has been welcome quite alright since its commencement earlier this year.
The Tv show isn’t too big on ratings and we are well aware of that but its sophomore season has proven to be just enough for showrunners Joe Henderson, Ildy Modrovich and director Len Wiseman to press for an early renewal which the network eventually gave in to.
“Lucifer continues to deliver, with great blasts of dark humor and ambitious storytelling. The show has turned out to be a true wicked pleasure, the perfect companion to Gotham, and we couldn’t be more pleased to order these nine additional episodes.” said Fox entertainment president David Madden after the renewal.
While the far future might not look too promising, Jerry Bruckheimer and Jonathan Littman have good reason to be excited even as much as the rest of us, especially after the kind of episode we saw on Monday.
